Privacy Policy
This policy takes effect on September 3, 2026.
Reading here is anonymous work. Nothing on these pages is sold, nobody is signed up for anything, and no customer file gets built, because writing about leaks under concrete slabs is the whole undertaking. What follows is every record that does exist, and what a reader can demand.
One clarification first, since the name pulls in people hunting for a contractor. Artistic Plumbing sits over a publication and a phone line, and nothing else. Every plumbing contractor that has ever traded under something similar is a separate business with no tie to this one.
The line a page view writes
Asking for a page writes one entry in a web server log. That entry holds a handful of plain items: the requesting IP address, a timestamp, which file went out, the status number returned, and the browser string sent with the request. Cloudflare serves these pages and keeps the entries on a short rotation before they expire.
Nothing joins a name to those entries, because no page here asks for one. Read nine articles in one evening and the log gains nine lines about a numbered address.
Counting is limited to page views
Google Analytics 4 handles measurement, and it is pointed at one job: how many times each article was opened, on a phone or a laptop, from a region no finer than a state. The tag goes live when the site is deployed; before that, nothing is counted.
Advertising features stay switched off: no remarketing audiences, no demographics or interest reports, no advertising identifiers, nothing pushed into an ad platform. Google places its own counting cookies and handles whatever it gathers on Google's terms. What comes back here is a column of totals, never a reader with a history attached.
Cookies, in one paragraph
These pages plant no cookie of their own. The only cookies that can appear are the ones Google Analytics uses to count a return visit, plus a short-lived security cookie the host may issue while filtering automated traffic. Block every one of them in your browser and each article still loads, and the number still dials.
Where the town beside the number comes from
One more short script runs after a page loads. It requests an address on this domain, which answers with the approximate spot the delivery network worked out from your connection: a city, a state, a country, no finer grain than that. Approximate is not a hedge there. What gets named is wherever your connection surfaces, often a town or two from the slab you are standing on.
The answer does one thing, swapping general wording for the name of an actual town. It is held in the tab's session storage, disappears when you close the tab, is never written to a cookie, and no copy comes back this way.
Nowhere to type anything
No account exists to open, no login, no newsletter, no comment thread, no quote form, no callback widget, no chat bubble. Not a single field anywhere asks for your name, your email, your street or your number.
After a plumber picks up
The number on these pages reaches a licensed plumber who works slab leaks in your area, and from that moment the conversation belongs to you and to that business. Your address, what the meter did overnight, the photos you send, the repair scope and the price you agree on are kept by that plumbing company, and its own privacy practices govern all of it. This policy cannot speak for them, so ask to see theirs before you book.
Some answering companies keep recordings of service calls, subject to whichever consent rule the caller's state applies, and any announcement the law demands plays before you start talking. Nobody from this publication is on that line, and no one here will ever ask you for a card number.
The full list of outside companies
Cloudflare hosts the site and serves it from its network edge, and Google runs the analytics counting. That is the whole list. No ad network loads beside an article, no data broker receives anything, and no mailing list exists to rent out.
What the CPRA calls selling, and why it does not happen here
The CPRA calls it a "sale" when personal information goes to another business for money or other value, and "sharing" when it goes out for cross-context behavioral advertising. Neither one happens here. This site does not sell or share personal information under those definitions, and it holds no sensitive personal information to begin with.
A referral fee can be owed by the partner on work it books and reports, and that fee never gets added to your invoice. It buys a phone connection, nothing more, least of all data about the caller. The arrangement is spelled out on how this publication is paid.
Rights a California reader can exercise
Under that statute a reader in California may require the site to disclose what personal information it holds, by category and as a copy, to delete it, to correct a wrong entry, and to opt out if a sale or a sharing arrangement ever begins. Making that request changes nothing about the articles or about what a plumber charges.
A Global Privacy Control signal arriving from your browser is honored as an opt out, though it has nothing here to stop. Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy statutes get the same treatment: say where you live and the rights your state grants are honored.
Minors
The writing assumes an adult who owns or manages a house on a slab foundation. No information about anyone under 16 is knowingly gathered here, and nothing on the site is built for children.
Filing a request
Requests travel by email only. Send a message to help@artisticplumbing.net, put the word privacy at the front of the subject, and name which of the four rights above you want used. The phone line reaches partner plumbers rather than editors, so calling (800) 555-0142 will not start a privacy request.
Verification is a real limit: with no accounts and no forms, there is rarely anything on hand to match you against, so most answers confirm which records exist rather than hand over a stack. If somebody files on your behalf, send their written authorization along with the request. An answer comes back within whatever window the statute in your state allows.
